The New Westminster Police Department hopes witnesses and dash-cam footage can help shed some light on who was driving a vehicle that struck a cyclist at Eighth and Eighth on July 1.

If you saw a cyclist get hit by a vehicle at Eighth Avenue and Eighth Street on Canada Day, New West police would like to hear from you.

The New Westminster Police Department has put out a call for witnesses or dash cam footage that may help shed light on a collision that happened on July 1 at about 9 p.m.

A cyclist was heading north on Eighth Street when they were struck by a vehicle driver.

The driver didn’t remain at the scene, and police are trying to identify the person at the wheel.

“Anyone who saw this collision or may have dash-cam footage is asked to contact the New Westminster Police Department,” stated acting Insp. Jeff Scott in a press release. “Our investigation into this collision is ongoing.”

If you have information regarding the incident, you can contact the NWPD at 604-525-5411, citing file 21-10982.
