The sounds of clicking chips and slot machine jackpots were in the air at Parq Vancouver last weekend, the casino’s first weekend back in action after a 15-month hiatus.
Parq Vancouver closed its casino floors temporarily on March 16, 2020 in accordance with provincial public health requirements enacted due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Over the past year, staff worked to prepare for the casino’s relaunch in accordance with step three of BC's Restart Plan. Complete with enhanced health and hygiene measures, reconfigured gaming floors to allow for physical distancing, plexiglass barriers between players and staff, the casino reopened on July 1.
Karen Gray, VP of marketing at Parq Vancouver says the reopening brought a mix of old friends, familiar faces and new guests too.
“Many came to try their luck on tables and slots over the first weekend,” Gray said. “Guests were looking for new entertainment experiences, to reconnect with old friends in a safe and friendly environment, and see the bold new changes at Parq.”
The Canada Day reopening also saw the unveiling of KOI and Luna, two exclusive full-service gaming salons. The salons come with luxurious details and VIP service which offer guests an intimate gaming experience, signature amenities, and a chef-prepared menu featuring Asian and Western cuisine.
If you want to put your money into machines instead of VIP service, there are 600 other slot machines including Dragon Link, Longhorn, Timberwolf Grand, 88 Fortunes and Lightning Link to be played.
Slots not your style? The casino also offers dozens of time-honoured table game classics like baccarat, blackjack, roulette, three card poker, and ultimate Texas Hold ’Em.
