Police were on the scene of an incident in Surrey yesterday.

Police are conducting an investigation after a vehicle hit three people waiting for a bus in Surrey last night.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. March 21 when a vehicle left the road at 72 Ave. between 122 and 124 streets, according to a police press release. A group of people was standing at a bus stop when the vehicle left the road and ended up on the sidewalk and collided with three of them, including a five-year-old girl.

One of the people hit has multiple fractures; all three were sent to hospital.

Surrey RCMP is now investigating the incident and believes it may be a case of distracted driving. The driver had a learner's license; they were properly supervised at the time of the collision.

As part of the investigation they're asking for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to contact them. The Surrey RCMP can be called at 604-599-0502.
