Photo: Who remembers shopping at Hiro's in Steveston?

The building is still there today but has long since been replaced by new tenants

Hiro's Grocery Store in Steveston in the '80s

If you lived in Steveston in the ‘80s, then there’s every chance you frequented Hiro’s Grocery Store on Moncton Street.

This shot, dug out of the City of Richmond archives, was taken in 1984, complete with a good old station wagon parked outside that could have belonged to Clark W Griswold.

Sheba’s Antiques is off to the left in the background and you can just see a corner of Steveston Seafood House to the left, which is still there today.

Hiro’s is now shared by an optician, accountant and a maternity store.
