Keeping your private information secure meant providing a helping hand to community organizations in Port Coquitlam at a special document shredding event held Saturday, April 20.
Port Coquitlam Community Foundation board members, along with volunteers from the community and the Elevator Contructors Local 82, loaded boxes and bags of documents into a mobile shredder, with proceeds from donations for the service going to the foundation's grant program that helps local non-profit organizations, groups and individuals initiate programs benefiting local residents.
The Tri-City News was a sponsor for the annual spring event.
