Police ask for witnesses after truck strikes pedestrian in Metro Vancouver

The Surrey RCMP is asking for witnesses to a collision in the Newton area that left a female pedestrian in serious condition. 

On Thursday (March 24) at 6:43 p.m., police responded to a collision at 80th Avenue and 128th Street where a woman had been struck by a truck, explains a news release. 

She was taken to hospital in serious condition. Following the incident, the driver was located and taken into custody. 

The area around 80th Avenue and 128th Street was closed off to allow police to investigate the cause of the collision. 

The Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken over the investigation, which is in its early stages.
