Abbotsford Police arrested a woman for drunk driving late Tuesday, March 24 – with her five-year-old unsecured in the back of the minivan she was driving.

Not only that, the van was driving on its rims, with blown tires.

Officers responded to report of a minivan driving at high speed through red lights about 11 p.m.

The van was stopped, and the driver failed a roadside breath test, wrote Sgt. Judy Bird in a press release. The child was unsecured in a booster seat in the back of the vehicle, she added.

The 24-year-old Abbotsford woman faces charges of impaired operation of a vehicle.

Police say the child has been handed over to the care of the father.
