Many people living in Vancouver become local tour guides for visiting family and friends.
But what is there to do with those people who come to the city? Take them to the park? Go for a hike? Check out a trendy neighbourhood?
V.I.A. asked readers which of eight major sites or activities they head to when visitors come to Vancouver.
Easily topping the list is Vancouver's gem, Stanley Park. More than a third of people who responded picked the massive park, making it the clear winner.
Second place is clear as well: Granville Island, with its market and shops, got 25 per cent of the vote. Between the two places, that is more than half of the votes.
English Bay Beach and the West End, with their food and shoreline, took third place, but the votes for all that followed were close. Only about 9 per cent of the general vote picked the beach area, which put it just above Canada Place and the Vancouver Harbour area. Canada Place itself finished just above going for a hike.
In sixth place is Kitsilano and Kits Beach. The trendy neighbourhood and popular beach drew about six per cent of the overall vote.
Finishing at the bottom of the poll is the city's core and oldest neighbourhood. Gastown and Downtown Vancouver (with Robson Street) only got a handful of votes each.
