Port Moody is getting its first wine bar, joining the city's six craft breweries and one spirits establishment.

Port Moody already has six craft breweries and one establishment for spirits. Soon, wine lovers will be able to join the party.

The One Sixty wine bar and café has announced it will be opening in one of the ground floor retails spaces at the 50 Electronic Avenue condo development on Murray Street.

In a social media post, The One Sixty said it will be "wine focused," but will have cocktails and beer as well to accompany its shareable style food offerings.

Anticipation for the new adult beverage option in Port Moody’s self-proclaimed "entertainment district" along Murray Street is high, judging by some of the comments on The One Sixty’s Facebook page.

"Exciting," said one.

"Much better than beer," said another.

Even the CEO of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce weighed in.

"Welcome to the 'hood from the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce," said Leslie Courchesne. "Looking forward to it."

As yet, The One Sixty hasn't posted an exact date for its opening date, but its website does say it will be "soon."
