Prince George Crime Stoppers records a historic year in 2019

More than 700 tips received last year

Prince George Crime Stoppers is celebrating 35 years in 2020 and also has another reason to celebrate after a record year in 2019.

According to numbers released today (Jan. 3), a total of 750 tips were received, a 28 per cent increase from 586 in 2018. 

The tips resulted in 14 arrests, six cases cleared and 11 cash rewards approved. 

Drug seizure amounts totaled $1,827,361, while $545,657 in cash was recovered. 

Total numbers for last year are as follows: 

  • Tips received: 750
  • Arrests made: 14
  • Number of awards approved: 11
  • Value of awards approved: $2,490
  • Value of seized property and drugs recovered: $1,857,361
