Vandals are hitting Pinewood Elementary with racist and obscene graffiti.

In a message to parents Saturday, principal James Hope noted large amounts of graffiti were sprayed on the school and property Thursday night .

Steps were taken to get it cleaned up as quickly as possible, he wrote.

"The District and Delta Police take these matters seriously as they are a drain on district and city resources. It is often a small number of individuals that are responsible for these offences and we ask that everyone have a chat with their kids about the importance of being respectful to our school and community.

Please encourage anyone with credible information about damage that has been done, or will be done to the school, to tell a trusted adult," he said.

It happened again the following day.

On Sunday morning, more racist and obscene red graffiti was on another wall on the school.

A Delta police officer was stationed at the site.
