RCMP searching for man suspected of assaulting Richmond seniors

Richmond RCMP is asking the public to help identify a man who is suspected of assaulting two Richmond seniors last month.

Officers responded to a call shortly after 11 p.m. on July 24 that a man and a woman, both over the age of 60, were assaulted in an attempted break and enter at the 7000 block of Gollner Avenue, near the Richmond Lawn Bowling Club.

The couple sustained non-life threatening injures, but had to be hospitalized, according to the Richmond RCMP in a media statement.

Police released a forensic composite sketch of the suspect, who is described as a Caucasian man in his 20s.

The man is about five feet 10 inches tall, slim build, with brown, curly hair and a blue/green flower tattoo on his right forearm.
