Richmond RCMP searching for high-risk missing woman

A 24-year-old Richmond woman has gone missing, and Mounties are asking for the public’s help in locating her.

Barbara Veikle is known to spend time in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side and was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, when she walked away from an emergency response centre for the homeless.

According to Richmond RCMP, Veikle is a heavy drug user and her high risk lifestyle raises concerns for her safety.

She is described as Caucasian, standing approximately five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall, with blue eyes and long curly, dirty blond hair. She has no known distinct marks, scars or tattoos.

It’s not known what Veikle may be wearing at this time, according to Richmond RCMP, however, she typically wears dark or black clothing, and may also have a backpack and a red blanket.
