A GoFundMe has been created for the recovery of a victim of a horrible assault.

Shawn Jones, who is the General Manager of Nomad restaurant, was on her way home from work when she was brutally assaulted by a stranger.

She was walking home after a shift on October 7 down Main Street near King Edward when she remembers a stranger accusing her of 'almost bumping into him.' Following this, she reports that the man became extremely angry and shoved her from behind.

"Heartbreakingly, Shawn fell face-first into the sidewalk, cracking four of her teeth, smashing her eye socket, fracturing her skull, and leaving her concussed. She was taken by ambulance to VGH, where she spent the night," reads the GoFundMe.

"Shawn has been ambitious in trying to get back on her feet, but she is dealing with PTSD and suffering from some pretty severe anxiety. On top of this, the accident is coming at a financial cost (as if the physical and emotional cost isn't damaging enough)," adds Elle Starr, who created the campaign page. (We reached out to Starr, but did not receive a response.)

"Shawn's teeth (three of which are dead) will need major reconstruction, with estimated costs beginning at $6000."

In addition, Shawn's medical plan won't cover the incident. She's a new employee at Nomad, and since the insurance only just came into effect, the incident is classified as pre-existing, according to the crowdfunding page. As such, she won't be covered for any of the dental procedures.

Starr also includes several images of Jones, and notes that while they may be disturbing, "they show progress in Shawn's healing."

On top of the physical injuries documented in the campaign, the organizer also points to the psychological trauma of the event, adding that Jones is facing PTSD and severe anxiety.

"Police reports were filed, but there were no witnesses and therefore no recourse for the police to follow up on the incident," adds the campaign.
