Are you prepared for some sweltering humidity?
The Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes plenty of soaring daily highs as well as plenty of humidity heading into the weekend.
The duration of this heat wave is expected to last at least three days, and little relief is expected at night with elevated overnight temperatures.
On Thursday (Aug 12), Environment Canada calls for mainly sunshine and a high of 29°C except for a sizzling high of 36°C inland. With humidity, however, these temperatures will feel more like 36°C and 42°C, respectively.

Several hot destinations south of the border will not see temperatures as high as those in Vancouver today. For example, Honolulu is expected to reach a high of 32°C, while Los Angeles is expected to reach a high of 30°C.
Vancouver will even see hotter temperatures than Miami today, with an inland high of 36°C that is a few degrees hotter than the Floridian city's high of 32°C.

Heat wave warning issued for Metro Vancouver
The hotter than normal temperatures in Vancouver will increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, advises Environment Canada.
You should drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
