Monday’s weather in Prince George has been a mixed bag.

From sunshine this morning to a noon-hour downpour of sideways-streaking sleet and back to afternoon sunshine, it’s typical of what you might expect this time of year, with April showers bringing May flowers (we hope).

There’s still a risk of a thunderstorm and be prepared for a cool night with a 40 per cent chance of rain or snow showers and up to two centimetres of snow sticking on the ground. The overnight low is expected to drop to -3 C, but a 20 kilometre-per-hour wind will make that feel like -9 C.

Another mostly cloudy day is in the forecast for Tuesday, with a 40 per cent chance of more flurries, heading for a high of 7 C and a low of -7 C.

The good news is sunshine is in the forecast for much of the rest of the week but it will remain cool at night.

According to Environment Canada, highs will range from 9 C on Wednesday to 11 C on Thursday, with lows around -6 or -7 C.

Friday’s high is predicted to reach 10 C, with a low of -4 C.

The normal high/low for this time of year is 10C/-2C.

The record high for April 15 is 24.8 C, set in 1984. The record low is -9 C, recorded in 2000.
