YVR is expecting long line-ups at pre-board screening and security check points today

Passengers using Vancouver International Airport today are being warned of longer lineups at pre-board screening and security checkpoints.

Due to yesterday’s snowfall impacting the entire Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley regions, YVR is expecting increased wait times at the screening and security areas of the airport today.

The Richmond News has asked YVR to clarify if the delays are being caused by a shortage of Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) staff.

Passengers are asked to please plan ahead and arrive early and are being encouraged to check the status of their flight on their airline’s website or the flight information on yvr.ca, before coming to the airport.

Updates on airport operations are also available on Twitter @yvrairport and @yvraeroport and yvr.ca.

More snow is being forecast by Environment Canada for the YVR area on Friday.
