A woman and her dog were stabbed with a knife near the Marine Drive Canada Line Station and a teenaged boy from South Vancouver may face charges, say Vancouver Police.
On Friday (Nov. 26) just after 10 p.m., Vancouver Police were called to the station after the teen suspect allegedly pulled a knife on the woman, "stabbing her in the hand and then stabbing the dog," explains a news release.
“When our officers arrived, they found the victim and the dog bleeding heavily. The suspect was walking near the crime scene,” says Sergeant Steve Addison. “The suspect was arrested and taken to jail, while the victim and dog received first aid for their injuries.”
The 32-year-old victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Her dog, described as a "medium-sized mixed-breed" was taken to an emergency veterinarian. However, both of them expected to make full recoveries.
The 14-year-old suspect has been released from custody pending a future court date.
