Stabbing in Burnaby leaves 40-year-old man with serious injuries

Police are investigating a stabbing in Burnaby Monday night.

Burnaby RCMP were called to the 3700 block of Venables Street, just inside the Burnaby border at about 8 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found a 40-year-old man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The stabbing is believed to have been targeted, according to police.


"As we are in the early stages of our investigation, we're not in a position to speak to the number of suspects," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. told the NOW in an emailed statement.  "What we are asking for today is for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward and speak with us and assist us in furthering our investigation."

Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the attack or seen a suspect vehicle speeding from the scene or being driven erratically in the area at about 8 p.m.
