A Steamworks Brewing Co. Beer Mobile was stolen sometime overnight Oct. 1-2, 2022, from its parking stall in East Vancouver, B.C.

A local Vancouver brewery's beloved new Beer Mobile was recently stolen and the business is hoping a little humour can help them get the distinct vehicle back.

Steamworks Brewing Co. had left the "young, newly swaddled vehicle" parked in its East Vancouver parking stall when it was stolen late Saturday night (Oct. 1) or early Sunday morning (Oct. 2), says the brewery's press release.

The beer mobile was last seen wearing a "bright orange onesie depicting whimsical Steamworks Steam Machines," the brewery adds.

“It loved that outfit,” writes a Steamworks representative in an email. “It's out there somewhere in this big city, all alone and scared, unable to deliver beer and tell us about its joyful day playing in traffic. We’re worried sick and just want to see it returned home safely.”

The bright orange 2022 Subaru Ascent is covered in Steamworks Brewing Co's recognizable branding and its license plate is SC2 74E.

The brewery asks anyone who sees the vehicle to call the police and to check the license plate before reporting, as other Steamworks Beer Mobile vehicles will also be out searching.

Steamworks launched in Vancouver 1995 and operates a taproom at its Burnaby brewery in addition to its flagship Gastown brewpub. The brewery recently opened its doors at a new "employee-owned" brewpub restaurant in Mount Pleasant.
