A Metro Vancouver couple has even more reason to celebrate their upcoming 20th anniversary.
Michelle and Ben Tessarolo of Surrey found out they won the $1 million Maxmillions prize from the Oct. 21 Lotto Max draw while having a cozy night in.
“We were at home watching TV, and I thought my Lotto! app must have an error and then we double-checked our numbers online,” Michelle recalled.
The couple plans to go on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate their anniversary and hopes to buy a lakeside home in B.C.'s interior to enjoy the outdoors after retirement.
They share that they feel excited about the win, adding: "It will better prepare us for retirement and allow us to have some savings.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on 152 Street in Surrey.
