Teal vests at Port Coquitlam doors means BC Cancer Foundation is knocking

The brightly coloured canvassers are going to Port Coquitlam homes to build awareness about the foundation, as well as its monthly donor program.
BCCF-Canvassers

If you get a knock on the door from the BC Cancer Foundation in the next few weeks, don’t worry: The organization isn’t asking for money on the spot.

Rather, the brightly coloured canvassers are going to Port Coquitlam homes to build awareness about the foundation, as well as its monthly donor program.

Contributions made each month go to cancer research at the foundation, the fundraising arm for BC Cancer.

For security reasons, the canvassers will be identified wearing badges and the foundation’s teal vests.

They’ll also have face masks available and keep at least six feet away from doors for physical distancing precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you choose to take part in its monthly donor program, you will:

  • receive an immediate email upon registration
  • see the amount that you chose to donate each month deducted from your bank or credit card
  • get a consolidated tax receipt at the start of the next year
