The map shows the COVID-19 vaccine rates for different neighbourhoods in Vancouver.

With more than 87 per cent of the province fully vaccinated (two doses) against COVID-19, the vast majority of B.C. residents are working to end the pandemic.

However, different communities are still taking up vaccination at different rates, a stat that the BC CDC is tracking; they've updated a map showing those rates, down to the neighbourhood when it comes to the Lower Mainland. Currently, it shows the rate for all those eligible for a vaccine, which is anyone five years old or older, as of March 28.

In Vancouver, the city is broken out into 20 different neighbourhoods; all but one are above the provincial and national (81-82 per cent) average and some are showing essentially 100 per cent coverage.

Here's the breakdown, from highest vaccination coverage for people 5 or older to lowest:

  • Downtown Vancouver - 100 per cent
  • Northeast False Creek - 98 per cent
  • Renfrew Collingwood - 98 per cent
  • West End - 97 per cent
  • Sunset - 97 per cent
  • UBC - 96 per cent
  • Kitsilano - 96 per cent
  • Mount Pleasant - 96 per cent
  • Fairview - 95 per cent
  • Cedar Cottage - 95 per cent
  • South Cambie/Riley Park- 95 per cent
  • Kensington- 95 per cent
  • West Point Grey/Dunbar-Southlands - 94 per cent
  • Victoria-Fraserview - 94 per cent
  • Hasting Sunrise - 94 per cent
  • Killarney - 93 per cent
  • Oakridge/Marpole - 93 per cent
  • Grandview-Woodland - 91 per cent
  • Shaugnessy/Arbutus Ridge/Kerrisdale - 90 per cent
  • Downtown Eastside - 81 per cent

The map goes beyond just the city and just that data. There's information about coverage rates for other ages or number of doses, and there are coverage rates for the entire province and health areas within. Vaccination rate data can also be broken down in areas with higher population, like the Lower Mainland.

While the highest coverage in the province is still in Downtown Vancouver, there are some areas with lower rates; notably, North Mission is around 75 per cent and North Chilliwack sits at 72 per cent.

Provincially the lowest coverage rate is in the Peace Region, where the Fort Nelson and Peace River North areas are both at 66 per cent. Peace River South has the lowest coverage in the province right now, at 63 per cent.
