Nature challenge 2.0

Two more City Nature Challenge events are happening today in the City of Port Moody: At 10 a.m., learn about bears and how to co-exist with wildlife at a session at Bert Flinn Park (entrance at Heritage Mountain Boulevard at David Avenue); and at 1:30 p.m., find out about the fish at Mossom Creek hatchery (Mossom Creek Drive off Ioco Road).

Food fest

Bring your appetite to Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) for the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival's Coquitlam Community Fest, happening today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. More than a dozen food trucks will be on site for the party, which also includes games, scavenger hunts and a vendors market. Tickets are by donation via Eventbrite.ca.

Wormy workshops

Join the City of Coquitlam’s Park Spark team for a wormy workshop on April 28 at 3 p.m., April 29 at 5 p.m. or April 30 at 2 p.m. at Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam).

Elephant Man

The story of the life of John Merrick, who was born with rare skin and bone diseases, comes to life at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) at 7:30 p.m. — courtesy of Stage 43 Theatrical Society. Written by Bernard Pomerance, the Elephant Man is the last play of the season for the Coquitlam company. Tickets are $28/$24/$18.
