Vancouver City Hall and Burrard Street Bridge light up in support of war-stricken Ukraine (PHOTOS)

Odessa has been one of Vancouver's sister cities since 1944

The City of Vancouver is standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people since Russian forces began a full-scale invasion of the country earlier this week.

The city announced the lights of both City Hall and Burrard Bridge would be lit up yellow and blue to support the citizens of one of Vancouver's sister cities Odessa and the people of Ukraine. Vancouver residents have reacted too, with hundreds of members of the Ukrainian community holding rallies in the city. Another event planned for this Saturday (Feb. 26) at the Vancouver Art Gallery at 1 p.m.
