Vancouver Police posted to Twitter Monday sharing an incident that occurred over the weekend in the hopes that more people would consider using the department's safe exchange location.
On Sunday, July 16, a man selling an electric scooter through Facebook Marketplace says he was bear sprayed and robbed by two would-be buyers.
According to the VPD, the suspects are a couple; the man allegedly used the bear-sprayed while the other, a woman, allegedly rode off on the scooter without payment.
Both suspects remain at large and police are asking that in-person transactions of online sales between strangers take place at the designated safe exchange at the VPD's headquarters at 2120 Cambie St.
