The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has released video of a man suspected of punching a dog walker in a random attack in January.
A 22-year-old woman was walking a dog Jan. 19 near the Orpheum Theatre at Seymour and Smithe streets around 4:20 p.m. when she was punched in the face by a man walking by, according to a press release from the VPD.
A witness tried to confront the man, but he fled the scene.
While they haven't been able to identify the suspect the VPD have found and are releasing video footage of him.
“We’re asking people to take a good look at the person in this video and to give us a call if you know who it is,” says Sgt. Steve Addison.

"This incident is very concerning to us, as it appears to have been random and completely unprovoked,” adds Addison. “We don’t know why this woman was targeted, or what the suspect’s motivation was.”
The man is described as Caucasian, 5'10", and approximately 50-years-old with short white hair. At the time he was wearing jeans and a light blue jacket or sweater.
