Vancouver police are investigating a hit-and-run incident.

Vancouver police are looking for tips in a hit-and-run incident that sent a 29-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries.

On Oct. 19 just before 11 p.m. the man was riding a motorcycle east on East Hastings Street near Commercial Drive. As he was travelling a grey or silver SUV turned left from East Hastings onto Commercial, striking the motorcycle, according to a press release from the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).

The SUV didn't stop after the collision, instead driving east in the south lane of East Hastings, away from the intersection.

Police are still looking for the driver and vehicle, which likely has extensive damage to the rear passenger side because of the impact.

The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and has since been released to continue his recovery at home.

"Witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage from the area are asked to call VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012," state police in the press release.
