Vancouver police are asking witnesses to come forward after a serious hit and run sent one man to hospital with life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning.

The man, 30, was crossing East 41st Ave at Fraser St at 6:25 a.m. on Oct. 12 when he was struck by a vehicle travelling west, causing serious head injuries. The driver fled the scene, continuing westward without stopping, the VPD wrote in a recent release.

“Although it’s early in the investigation, we believe the suspect’s vehicle is either a black pick-up truck or black SUV,” says Constable Tania Visintin, VPD. “We need anyone with information or dash cam footage to call police.”

Witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage from the area are asked to call VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
