Vancouver police are looking for witnesses to a collision that happened at the beginning of March after a 73-year-old died in hospital weeks after the incident.
The man was riding a mobility scooter near Columbia Street and West 2 Avenue around 7 p.m. on March 4. A white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with the man and scooter. The man fell to the ground and struck his head.
The man passed away in hospital this weekend due to the injuries he sustained.
“The driver of the truck remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation,” says Sgt. Steve Addison in a press release. “We’re now asking anyone else who saw what happened, or who has dash cam video, to come forward and speak with investigators.”
He says it may not have appeared to be a serious collision and witnesses may have left the scene before police arrived. They are now looking to speak with anyone who saw the incident.
Witnesses are asked to call the collision investigation team at the Vancouver Police Department at 604-717-3012.
