Video shows the Tesla swerving around another vehicle while driving over 100 km/hr

A video posted by a Traffic Sergeant with the Vancouver Police Department shows a Tesla and Supra reaching speeds of 170+ km/hr.

A video of a reckless 170+ km/hr race through Vancouver’s streets has given the Vancouver Police Department more than enough to work with.

Originating from an Instagram story, the video was reposted by Mark Christensen, a Traffic Sergeant with the VPD. The video is taken from the driver’s side of a Tesla looking through the windshield to the Toyota Supra on the right. Seemingly taking off shortly after a traffic light turns green, the speedometer on the Tesla’s screen quickly jumps to 100 km/hr just as the driver drives into the oncoming lane to swerve around another vehicle. When the video ends the Tesla is travelling at 172 km/hr.

“When you post this to social media... going 170 kmh in Vancouver, I will guarantee you that one of your “friends” will rat you out! We have identified the Tesla...working on Supra, you can expect a visit from us in the near future!” Mark Christensen writes on Twitter.

Many replying to the video on Twitter pointed out how the Supra was speeding dangerously close to pedestrians on the sidewalk.

Others believed punishments for such reckless behaviour need to be more severe.

The Instagram account the video came from has been deactivated.
