A 29-year-old woman is in hospital, suffering what police describe as “significant injuries” after being hit by a car Wednesday night in Vancouver.

Cst. Tania Visintin with the Vancouver Police Department said the collision occurred near Grandview Highway and Renfrew Street at around 6:45 p.m.

“The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with our investigators,” Visintin said in a news release.

The victim was walking along the centre median on Grandview Highway and crossed through westbound traffic when struck by a blue Subaru.

Police say she’s currently in serious condition as a result of injuries from the collision.

“Investigators don’t believe speed and alcohol are factors,” added Visintin.

Anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the collision, and has dashcam video, is requested to contact investigators at 604-717-3012 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
