A Vancouver woman is half a million dollars richer after winning the Lotto Max Draw.
Rowena Ibusca split the Maxmillions prize with another player in Ontario, winning $500,000 from the July 11 Lotto Max draw. She cried upon discovering the news, she shared in a media release from the BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC).
Ibusca bought the ticket at Point Grey Pharmacy on West 10th Avenue and Sasamat Street in Vancouver.
“I was inside a drugstore, scanning my ticket,” recalled Ibusca. “When I scanned, I first thought it said $500, but then I scanned it again and just started crying. The first thing I said was, ‘Is this true?’”
The Vancouverite shared the news with her daughter first. “I went home and was waiting for my daughter to return from her camping trip. We were both jumping and crying.”
While she isn't sure how she will spend her winnings yet, Ibusca knows they will help with goals and savings. For now, she is "too shocked to decide."
“It’s a big blessing. It’s going to help me in my life a lot.”
