Early risers in Vancouver woke up to a new layer of snow prompting some to advise drivers to stay at home instead of braving snowed-over roadways.
As forecasted by Environment Canada in a recent snowfall warning, Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley saw a dump of 5-10 cm fall overnight and into the early morning of Dec. 30. Over 15 cm of snow has been reported in some areas. The federal forecaster predicts the snow will be tapering off this morning after an additional 2 to 4 cm has fallen.
