Girl injured, sent to hospital after Kitsilano car collision

A five-year-old girl was sent to the hospital with critical injuries following a car collision in Kitsilano. 

The girl was standing on the sidewalk with her father and siblings when two cars collided in the intersection at Cornwall Avenue and Arbutus Street on Wednesday (July 20) around 11 a.m., according to the Vancouver Police Department. 

The child was struck when the two vehicles mounted the sidewalk. 

There were no other life-threatening injuries and both drivers as well as some witnesses remained at the intersection.

The VPD is investigating the collision, collecting evidence to determine the cause, and asking anyone with information to call the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
