Police investigate after cyclist killed by a dump truck in Vancouver

They are asking anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident to come forward.
Hornby and Pacific
The cyclist was struck at Hornby and Pacific and died on scene.

At 7:30 a.m. Wednesday (June 29) morning, a 28-year-old cyclist fatally collided with a dump truck at the intersection of Pacific and Hornby.

Efforts to save the cyclist’s life were made by first responders but they were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

Vancouver Police are investigating and are asking anyone with information or dash-cam footage of the incident to come forward.

VPD reported in a recent news release that the driver of the dump truck is cooperating with police and they do not believe speed or impairment were factors in this collision.

The scene has since been cleared but traffic westbound on Pacific from Howe to Hornby was blocked off all morning.

If anyone has information they are asked to contact VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
