Update: Suspect in Downtown machete attack back in custody

He was re-arrested over the weekend.
Kenneth Solowan is back in custody after allegedly breaching his bail conditions in September, 2022.

The man charged in connection with a machete attack in the Downtown Eastside is back in custody, after allegedly breaching his bail conditions last month.

Kenneth Stephen Solowan, 37, was arrested on August 10 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He was released from custody on September 29.

Solowan was recently granted bail but immediately breached his conditions and disappeared from his court-ordered resident treatment facility in Surrey.

He was re-arrested Saturday (Oct. 8) in Mission, when a witness recognized him from a picture released by Vancouver Police and called police.
