Week of showers, rain and grey skies ahead for Vancouver

'Raincouver' will be living up to its nickname

Another week of mild, wet weather is coming to Vancouver.

Environment Canada's seven-day forecast is completely dominated by grey skies as Metro Vancouver heads into mid-January. Along with the constant cloud cover comes regular precipitation and very consistent temperatures; throughout the week a high of 8 C and a low of 4 C is forecast.

The work week will start off showery on Monday, with some fog in the morning and a light breeze gusting up to 50 km/h.

Tuesday, Jan. 10 will potentially be the nicest day of the week, according to the federal agency, with cloudy skies but no significant precipitation. However, showers will return overnight.

For the rest of the week showers and rain are expected each day as a wet system sets up over the Lower Mainland. Rain will continue into the weekend with highs remaining within a degree of 8 C and lows within a degree of 5 C.
