TORONTO — Police say a man in his 20s is dead after a morning shooting at a Toronto mall parking lot.
Toronto police responded to reports of gunfire just after 6 a.m. in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot and found a man who had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
Det. Sajeev Nair says the shooting was not random and the mall remains open and safe for visitors.
Nair asked shoppers to avoid entrance No. 3 on the north side of the mall and told people to expect an increased police presence during the ongoing investigation.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and they will not release any further information until the victim's next of kin have been notified.
Police did not release any details about a suspect and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
