New York rapper Tony Yayo unknowingly invented a humorous new nickname for the Coquihalla highway in a recent interview conducted by DJ Vlad and posted to YouTube.
While recounting the cross-Canada tour he just went on, Yayo makes mention of the harrowing journey they had driving through some mountain passes. Specifically the Coquihalla, which he incorrectly calls the "Cokanagan."
He goes on to (also incorrectly) say that "on TV they call it Hell's Highway," apparently referencing the reality show Highway Thru Hell, which shows towing operations on the Coquihalla and other highways in the interior of our province.
In Mr. Yayo's honour we're releasing our latest B.C.-themed t-shirt, which you can pre-order from our online store. It's also available as a hooded sweatshirt.
