Opinion: This is a pretty sweet frickin' sign

Sweet frickin' sign

A new sign recently popped up directly across the street from Glacier Media's REW.ca office on 2nd Ave, adjacent the Olympic Village.

Enhance Arts' sandwich board catches one's eye because of the simple and honest message on it.

Yes, Vancouver is definitely awesome, but it's also stressful. Frickin' stressful these days.

There's a street sign for that, and a business behind that sign.

Visiting their website (the URL for which is conveniently located on their sign) I learned that this company offers a range of beauty services as well as reflexology and a number of different massage options.

To help relieve that frickin' stress, no doubt.

We've all got our different thresholds for risk these days, and this opinion writer isn't quite ready to risk COVID-19 transmission for a massage. Yes, I imagine this business is just as safe as my dentist's office is (which is located right next door, and which I was leaving as I captured the above photo), and they've got all the proper safeguards in place, but I haven't even eaten inside a restaurant for a whole 12 months.

One low-risk way to cope with the added stress these days is to take a walk and check out the local sandwich boards.

Stretch.

Read a book.

Or perhaps check out the Government of B.C.'s COVID-19 resources. There are a number of free and low-cost counselling supports in place for those who may not have room in the frickin' budget for a professional massage.
