Fifty bright yellow mugs of flowers from Flowers by Nan await distribution at West Vancouver Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 16, 2022. The floral arrangements were presented to Sunday service attendees and shut-ins, as part of Teleflora's annual "Make Someone Smile" national campaign.

Dear Editor:

I am writing to you about a wonderful neighbourhood outreach that happened at West Vancouver Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 17.

The above photos were taken on the previous Saturday, when 50 bright yellow mugs of flowers were delivered by Flowers by Nan, an Ambleside florist, to our church, to be presented Sunday to "Make Someone Smile."

We worship in the summer, and have for the last seven years, with a neighbourhood church, St. David’s United. It was great to distribute these mugs of beautiful flowers, at the end of the service, to attendees from both churches, as well as some to take for shut-in people.

This is an annual Teleflora project across the country. They supply the mugs and invite florists to donate the flowers.

Nan Deichmiller, owner of Flowers by Nan, has usually designated a local care facility as the recipient. This year, she chose West Vancouver Presbyterian Church. Because of worshipping with St. David’s United, she was delighted to include them in the project. (Nan is a member of West Vancouver Baptist Church.). It took her  two days to assemble them all, and they were delivered by a team of Nan and three volunteers.
