Letters: Epoch Times doesn’t walk its talk

Richmond News reader Nick Loenen isn't happy about the reporting accuracy of the events in the U.S. recently

Dear Editor:

On the very day U.S. lawmakers were held hostage by a mob, I received an unsolicited sample copy of The Epoch Times in my mailbox.

Epoch Times purports to be an independent, facts-based publication. Its lead story featured a report alleging U.S. voting irregularities. No warning that the allegations had yet to be proven in court.

In fact, two days before I received my copy, all the allegations had been dismissed in court as “flat out wrong.”

The sad crumbling of American democracy started with not telling the truth. Canada needs truth.

Epoch Times should aim to be truthful, independent, balanced. Currently it does not walk its talk. The lesson from Washington is simple: insist on truth.
