Letters: International Holocaust Remembrance Day is Jan. 27

Editor:

I am writing to increase awareness in our community regarding International Holocaust Remembrance Day which occurs each year on Jan. 27.

This day marks the anniversary (Jan. 27, 1945) of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. This is a day to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and honour the survivors.

We need to continue to develop educational programmes and build awareness so that we have a world where we can truly say “Never again.”
