If you're one of the 112,000 people who received a copy of our weekly community newspaper this week, you were treated to a conversation-sparking front page.

An unflattering painting by Rowan Melling of yoga clothing entrepreneur turned real estate mogul, billionaire Chip Wilson is featured on the cover. It's one of 13 "garish" depictions of people who are involved in the real estate industry in Vancouver.

The paintings are on display at CSA Space on Main Street and they're accompanied by an essay that reads: "The local press won’t likely have much to say about it [the exhibition]... That’s because the exhibition, in its own modest way, challenges a fantasy system to which so many of us remain indentured.".

It goes on to say that news media in Vancouver protects the subjects in the exhibition and calls Vancouver Is Awesome out, saying that we are "developer-funded," as it surmises other media outlets are.

We are not.

You can read more about this in the cover story HERE if you didn't get a printed copy of our paper.
