Ruth and Dave are responsible for today's photograph of Arthur Erickson's The Waterfall Building just off Granville Island. There is a lovely little play between light and shadow on the falling water that Ruth (and Dave) caught, resulting in a different take on an oft-photographed Vancouver building. Nice clean composition, very graphic.
I'm fairly geeked-up today. If the name Erickson is synonymous with Vancouver Architecture, then the name that would be synonymous with Vancouver Photography would be Herzog (I know what you are thinking - what about Jeff Wall, Roy Arden, Stan Douglas, etc? Well, Herzog predates them all). And tonight at 6pm at the Equinox Gallery - just up the hill from the Waterfall Building - Fred Herzog's latest exhibition opens (for more info on the show, take a peek here).
And I can't wait.
