Photos: There's a 'floating office' for sale but you have to get it out of the water

And maybe back to Vancouver somehow.

In another edition of weird B.C. real estate: the former office of Eagle Eye Adventures Wildlife Tours on Vancouver Island is up for grabs.

The single-storey building, which is currently floating in the Discovery Harbour Marina in Campbell River, has been posted to Facebook Marketplace for a modest $8,500 down from the original asking price of $12,500.

The only catch?

You have to get it out of the water.

The ad reads that the floating office, "needs a new front plate to connect to the dock" and that any would-be buyer is required to lift the building over the walkway and transport it to another location because "it may not stay in the marina."

The ad also states that the price is reflective of the necessary relocation and suggests that otherwise, the asking price would be $35,000, "and it’s worth that for sure."

From the outside (there are only outside photos provided), the building looks like a cross between a cabin and a boat house with a red corrugated metal roof and wood slat siding. Features include a banner of wildlife photos and the Eagle Eye Adventures logo attached to the roof and a giant eagle statue affixed to the side, presumably to deter other birds.

It's unclear if these additions are included in the price.

There are three windows at the back of the building and three at the front with a little undercover porch jut out big enough to store a big tub container and some plant pots. Maybe even a bear statue holding some pamphlets.

We don't really know what someone would do with a floating office or how they would get it out of the water and down to Vancouver, but that's part of the fun of it.
