An enormous bike festival hosted by Concord Pacific is rolling into Vancouver for one day of FREE family fun

Concord Pacific will host the third annual Tour de Concord criterium cycling race and Free Family Bike Festival on Saturday, June 10 in Vancouver

Food trucks, a beer garden, and a high-speed cycling competition – it doesn't get more Vancouver than that!

And we couldn't be any more excited.

The third annual Tour de Concord is returning to Vancouver this year with races and activities for everyone from young kids to professional athletes. In addition to the aforementioned festivities, racers and festival attendees can expect a ton of cycling-related highlights to entertain them throughout the day, including free bike safety checks and tune-ups and displays featuring the latest e-bikes, road bikes, and mountain bikes. There will also be a Kid's Zone with bike and helmet decorating, a kids' bike obstacle course with games, chances to win draw prizes, and much, much more.

The race and festival will be Vancouver's first major summer event and takes place on its new 1 km cycling course, which is fully contained within Concord Pacific Place (88 Pacific Boulevard) on the north shore of False Creek.

This new configuration allows for a custom-designed route that offers some seriously intense cycling competitiveness throughout the day. Additionally, it eliminates the need for closures of surrounding city streets to minimize disruptions for surrounding residents.

Things will kick off at 10:20 AM with the Youth Bike Race and will roll into the afternoon with the Men’s Pro Race at 1:55 PM. Awards and prizes will be given out at 3:00 PM. There are over $6,000 in prizes total and plenty of ways to take part, whether you’re a pro, amateur, youth, or are choosing to take part in the charity bike race. There will be $5000 donated to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation on the behalf of the winning team.

Everyone who registers will be entered for various prize draws, including chances to win a Trek bike (valued at $3200), a weekend getaway at the Westin Bayshore, and more.

Participants can register online and check in on-site on the day to receive a wristband that will grant them access to special perks during the event.

Concord Pacific is supporting the growing wellness movement with initiatives like the Tour de Concord, and the Concord Pacific's summer wellness series in partnership with lululemon. This series features multiple community and wellness focused events like "Own Your Run," which runs every Wednesday from May 3rd to June 7th at Concord Community Park, and Thursday Yoga at Concord Community Park starting in July, which attracts hundreds every week throughout the summer.

"The City of Vancouver is proud to once again welcome cyclists from across North America for this marquee race," says Ken Sim, Mayor of the City of Vancouver, during the Tour de Concord’s announcement. "Events like the Tour de Concord are an important part of creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere around our city – we look forward to seeing the positive impact of this year's race."

Whether you’re looking to race, check out some cycles, or just enjoy a very Vancouver take on “fun in the sun,” there’s plenty for you and your family to enjoy this year at the Tour de Concord in Vancouver.
