Spring is all about new beginnings, especially on Vancouver Island. From blooming flowers to the return of local wildlife, not to mention the opening of the region’s most popular attractions, spring is absolutely one the most sensational times to be on the Island, especially Parksville Qualicum Beach.

With tons of family-friendly attractions, Parksville is the perfect place to enjoy some well-deserved time off. Round up the kids, hop on a ferry and start exploring everything the Island and the season have to offer.

Coombs Old Country Market

The Old Country Market is famous for their international foods, imported gifts, in store baked goods, and of course, their ice cream. While the food is fabulous, particularly from the Market’s restaurant, Cuckoo's Trattoria and Pizzeria, the main reason thousands visit Coombs every year is the goats! If not resting in their Norwegian-style log house in the middle of the market’s roof, Coombs’ famous goats can be found munching on the grass and enjoying the local scenery. Such a fun spot for families to visit!

Tiger Lily Farm is a family farm, owned and operated by Cecil and Joan Mercer. The farm is a fantastic place for kids to mix and mingle with a variety of farmyard animals, including baby goats, ponies, horses, rabbits, pigs, ducks, sheep and more. For the braver kids in the family, horseback riding is also available. Ultimately, Tiger Lily Farm aims to provide a fun, safe and entertaining environment for kids to develop a deeper respect and understanding for animals and the products they provide.
