Who doesn’t love a trip to the theatre? Bard on the Beach, one of Vancouver’s most popular and beloved festivals is back and better than ever with its 34th season.
With a little help from their friends, Western Canada’s largest not-for-profit professional Shakespeare Festival, is returning to dazzle and delight audiences with thrilling thespians and passionate performances.
Presented in Vancouver’s Sen̓ákw/Vanier Park against a spectacular backdrop of mountains, sea and sky, the Festival offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas and special events in two modern performance tents from June through September.
To help make the event even more enticing, the Festival is inviting fans to ‘Come Together’ to enjoy its award-winning performance of As You Like It, featuring music from The Beatles and giving two lucky winners a chance to win two free tickets to the award-winning performance!
Back to where (it) once belonged
This unique and playful twist on the beloved classic played to sold-out houses in 2018 and has toured and triumphed across North America since then.
Guests are transported back to the 1960s, where love and revolution motivate free spirits to escape from Vancouver to get “back to the land.” A mesmerizing and joyful tribute to love, laughter and music, the show, developed by Bard on the Beach and Citadel Theatre Director Daryl Cloran, features two-dozen classic Beatles songs, from “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to “Here Comes the Sun.”
With its unique and signature setting by the beach in Sen̓ákw/Vanier Park, the Festival promises to deliver a summer outing filled with laughter, charm, and fun, perfectly complemented by a live musical performance that will be nearly impossible not to sing - or at the very least hum - along with at the show, and for the days and weeks to come.
